Meghan Markle’s engagement ring REVEALED: Prince Harry will buy ‘THIS’ band for wife-to-be
THE engagement ring Prince Harry will propose to Meghan Markle with has been “revealed” by a former jeweller to the Royals.
After Daily Star Online revealed why the loved-up pair may already be engaged, details of what the ring that could soon be gracing Meghan’s finger may look like have emerged.
Rumours of the loved-up pair getting engaged are at a fever pitch after they stepped out in public for the first time at the Invictus Games.
The pair held hands, kissed and embraced during their two public appearances at the game as odds were slashed on them getting hitched.
And now a former jeweller to the Royals and the stars, who created Princess Diana’s “Swan Lake” necklace, believes he knows the ring Harry will – if not already – propose with.
Stephen Barnard, who has worked on rings, bracelets and other jewellery worn by the rich and famous, said he thinks the special band will be absolutely covered in diamonds.
“I think if Harry were to propose it would be a ring with a large diamond, with a few little diamonds set around it,” Stephen told the Mirror.
“I think it will be stylish, I think it will be a large cut diamond, with maybe a dozen or so pave stones, lots of little diamonds all set together, around it.
“I don’t think he will choose a sapphire like his mother’s.
“Precious stones are dated. She is young, vivacious, American and stylish. I don’t think they will be very traditional. I think they will be more modern.
“I think it will be platinum, with maybe a few eternity rings to go with it.”
It has also been reported the ring will be made out of diamonds from Harry’s mum Princess Diana’s broach.
Stephen, who is now the head jeweller for 77 Diamonds in Mayfair, London, counts celebrities such as Ellie Goulding and Premier League footballers as customers.
He also previously worked for the House of Garrard, jewellers for the Royal Family, where he would work to paintings that depicted designs.
And it was here where he created the famous necklace Diana – who died in a horror car crash in 1997 – wore to a showing of the ballet Swan Lake.
“The most memorable piece I made was for Princess Diana,” Stephen said.
“I didn’t know who I was making the necklace for at the time, I only found out at a later date after she had died that it was for Diana. It’s something that you hold with you all your life.”
Stephen said a team of four people worked on Diana’s necklace which consisted of 178 diamonds and pearls, which took around one week to finish.
It was put up for auction earlier this year and sold for £9.6 million.
