Meghan Markle troll sparks outrage after comparing Princess Diana’s lover to ape
Yankee Wally posts videos on YouTube that focus on hate targeting Meghan. In November 2021 alone, the user earned £2,503.84 (more than $3,300) from posting hateful videos about the Duchess on the video site.
Among the trolling videos shared by Yankee Wally to their 46.2k subscribers was one that commented on the “nappy hair” of Dodi Fayed, Princess Diana’s boyfriend at the time of her death in 1997.
The comments feature in a video entitled “The Mystery & Middle East Connections of #meghanmarkle” which was posted in October and has racked up 24k views since.
In the video, Yankee Wally said Dodi Fayed was “rather awful looking” before describing him as having hair all over his body “a bit like, you know, an ape”.
She said: “I didn’t think Dodi al-Fayed was good-looking at all, in fact, I thought he was rather awful looking.

“He had that billiard ball head.
“Nappy hair, I don’t like that.
“And you know, you just know they’re gonna be covered in hair all over their body a bit like, you know, an ape and I really, really don’t like that either.”
Dodi Fayed was sat with Princess Diana in the back seat of a car that crashed in the Pont de l’Alma underpass in Paris in 1997.
The couple and the driver of the car, Henri Paul, were all killed in the collision.
Their bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, was seriously injured but survived the crash.
At the time, Prince Harry was just 12 years old while his brother Prince William was 15.
Her death caused an unprecedented outpouring of public grief on a global scale, and her funeral was watched by an estimated 2.5 billion people.
Yankee Wally’s video was exposed by Christopher Bouzy, founder of Bot Sentinel, who has been investigating Meghan hate accounts on Twitter and YouTube.
Details of the video’s content were shared on Twitter by Jack Royston, royal correspondent for Newsweek and caused outrage among royal watchers.
One user called Zandi called Yankee Wally’s video a “disgrace”, while another tweeted “This is disgusting!!!”
A third called Tiffani echoed this sentiment, writing: “The trolls are disgusting.”

Others questioned why the content was allowed to be shared on the video streaming site and tagged YouTube in their tweet to request the video and hurtful comments to be removed from the platform.
These include a user called Tracy who wrote: “This is appalling, she wants removing.”
