The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned for a whistle-stop tour of Europe before staying in the UK for longer due to Queen Elizabeth’s death last month.
It was released by the couple’s 45-year-old friend and photographer Misan Harriman.
Mr Harriman said on social media: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moments before attending the opening ceremony of OneYoungWorld last month.”
The first image showed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle holding hands side-by-side in Bridgewater Hall.
The Duchess was wearing a red suit and a matching red blouse.

The Duke donned a black suit and tie ahead of the event.
A second image, taken at a side-on angle, was released in black-and-white.
The snap again showed Harry and Meghan holding hands but the couple instead looked straight ahead.
Fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to social media to compliment the couple.

Another user, operating under the handle @klue_bear, wrote: “I can’t get over how stunning this image is.”
@inspiredduchess added: “I’ll never be over these. Hand-in-hand. Strong together.”
@peaceloveGen also said: “Such a stunning photo of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan.”
However, Daily Mail diary editor Richard Eden suggested the snaps were released at a “fascinating” time.
He said: “This was released soon after a photograph was published by Buckingham Palace of the new royal ‘Fab Four’: King Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Catherine.”
