Meghan Markle stuns in a new photoshoot for Vanity Fair as she channels Princess Diana
MEGHAN Markle shot to fame for her starring role on the hit legal drama Suits and of course for her recent relationship with Prince Harry but well before all that the actress was best known for her work as a humanitarian.
Markle was invited to be a counsellor at the annual One Young World summit in October last year alongside a number of world leaders and humanitarians.
She recounted her experience in a blog post on her website The Tig.
“When I was asked to be a Counsellor at One Young World, my response was a resounding ‘yes.’ One Young World invites young adults from all over the world who are actively working to transform the socio-political landscape by being the greater good. They are delegates who are speaking out against human rights violations, environmental crises, gender equality issues, discrimination and injustice. They are the change.”
Markle was also photographed at the event for Vanity Fair’s April issue alongside the President of Ireland Mary Robinson, poet Fatima Bhutto and women’s rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul with Ottawa in the background.
The picture showed the actress standing by herself as the other three leaders stood together.
Markle wasn’t the only celebrity in attendance as more than 1,3000 world leaders descended on Ottawa to discuss their various campaigns and the life-changing work they do.
Emma Watson, Cher and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also attended the summit with all of them saying speeches.
Markle’s photoshoot and involvement at the summit had plenty of fans drawing similarities between her work and Princess Diana who was more popularly known as ‘The People’s Princess’.
The 35-year-old actress actually met her royal boyfriend while he was in Canada promoting the Invictus Games.
As well as her work with the One Young World Summit, she is also the Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada and travelled to Rwanda in 2016 to promote the Clean Water Campaign.
