MEGHAN Markle displayed her growing baby bump in Twickenham today, and fans are speculating the Duchess of Sussex may be further along her pregnancy than we thought – with one excited fan even questioning whether Meghan was having twins.
The Duchess of Sussex looked elegant in a floral printed dress, showing off her blossoming baby bump as she visited the Royal Variety Charity’s residential nursing care home today in Twickenham. Speaking to one elderly lady at the care home, Meghan said she was “very pregnant today”. Meghan wore an £834 printed dress by Brook Collection which snug tightly around her large baby bump – leading fans to believe the Duchess could be further along her pregnancy, or possibly having twins. One fan wrote on Instagram: “Big bump already!”
Another said: “A lot further on in her pregnancy than made out.”
One wrote: “Wow..look at that cute bump…”
While one asked: “Do you think she’s having twins?”
The Duchess is believed to be around 5 months pregnant, but royal fans are suggesting her due date may be closer than previously thought.
In October, Kensington Palace announced Meghan and Harry will be expected their first child by next year Spring.
Royal pregnancy announcements are usually made after the mother’s 12-week scan, meaning Meghan is thought to have been at least three months pregnant at the time of the news.
Earlier fans speculated that the Duchess could have been four months pregnant after a social media post by singer suggested it during Harry and Meghan’s 16-day Australia tour.
This would mean Meghan’s due date will be in early on in Spring, in March.
But the Australian singer Missy Higgins later revealed she had only guessed how far along Meghan was.
Ms Higgins said: “I just made it up. I read somewhere that people had worked out that she was three-to-four months pregnant because she said she was due in the Spring.”
Meghan looked elegant today in a Odilia floral printed dress by LA-based Brock Collection, wrapping up in a £544 Soia and Kyo Adelaida grey wool coat.
The Duchess carried a £205 Wilbur & Gussie ‘Charlie’ clutch bag – costing her look a total of £2,073.
Meghan joined residents at the Royal Variety Charity’s residential nursing and care home, as the elders made festive decorations and were entertained with Christmas songs.
Giles Cooper, the charity’s chairman, said: “The timing of the visit is fantastic as it comes a few weeks after the Royal Variety performance which she attended with Prince Harry.
“And it comes after her wedding, which all the residents here were watching. We had the television on, Union Jack bunting up and a party atmosphere – so it’s nice to have the bride here.”
This will mark Meghan’s last engagement before she takes time off for Christmas.
Her visit comes just days after the Duchess’ estranged father, Thomas Markle, accused her of “ghosting” him.
Speaking to ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the 74-year-old said: “I’m hopeful that soon something will be resolved and we’ll be talking. This can’t continue forever.
“People are saying I should be quiet about this and not speak, if I don’t speak, they will speak to me. That hasn’t happened. I don’t plan to be silent for the rest of my life.
“I love my daughter very much and she has to know that. I would really appreciate if she would just call me, reach out to me somehow, send me a text, just say you’re there and you’re hearing me.”
