Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘may leave Kensington Palace cottage’ ahead of baby ARRIVAL
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be considering leaving their two-bedroom property at Kensington Palace as they prepare for the arrival of their first royal baby in the Spring, with sources claiming they want ‘more space to raise family’.
Meghan and Harry, who married in May, currently reside in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace. But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be looking to trade up their cute abode for a bigger family space, ahead of their first royal baby, which Meghan and Harry are expecting in the spring. Royal experts have claimed the Queen’s cousin, the Duke of Gloucester, 74, and his Danish-born wife, Birgitte, 72, will move out of the 21-room Apartment 1 – next door to Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge’s residence – to make way for the Meghan and Harry. But a source told the Daily Mail that Harry and Meghan may wish to leave the grounds of Kensington Palace altogether.
The source said: “Harry and Meghan want to move, and need more space, but they don’t want to live next door to William and Catherine.”
The source alluded to the fact that brothers William and Harry will hold separate offices from spring as they both follow their own royal paths.
The source continued: “They will soon have separate offices and separate lives, so it would make sense for them to live further afield.
“There is no reason why their London home has to be at Kensington Palace. There are plenty of other options, including using their own money to buy their own place.
“Catherine and Meghan live very different lives. And that is likely to become more marked over time.”
The Princes’ split is thought to reflect their increasingly different responsibilities, with William due to be ascended to the role of Prince of Wales when his father, heir apparent Prince Charles, becomes King.
But in the meantime, the two royal power couples are often seen enjoying the limelight together.
On Friday night, Meghan and Harry shared a double date with Catherine and William as they attended a dinner for the Royal Foundation at Victoria House. The relaxed couples were seen dining, laughing and enjoying music together.
