Meghan and Harry want Coronation balcony appearance to be ‘special family moment’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been invited to the Coronation but it is believed the couple are in negotiations with Buckingham Palace over what their role will be at the event.

Oprah on if Harry and Meghan should attend coronation

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry desire a “special family moment” with the rest of the Royal Family, according to a royal expert. Kinsey Schofield claimed the pair wanted on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the Coronation, something which will likely be reserved for working royals.

“There’s a story circulating online now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want a special family moment and they would like to appear on the balcony alongside King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” claimed Ms Schofield.

She claimed royal enthusiasts were none too happy about this and said it was “interesting” the Sussexes chose the Coronation to insist on this when they weren’t on the balcony for the Platinum Jubilee.

The To Di For Daily podcast host added: “As you can imagine, royal watchers are none to thrilled about this. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not appear on the balcony during the Platinum Jubilee so its interesting that they would want to appear on the balcony for King Charles’s’ Coronation.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla make secret visit for Coronation preparations

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have been spotted undertaking a secret trip to check in on their upcoming Coronation preparations.

The royal couple stopped by Hampton Court Palace on Wednesday to visit the people hard at work to make the big day perfect, official records revealed.

Although Meghan and Harry have been invited to the event, it’s unclear if they will show. Previously, a Sussex spokesperson refused to comment on their attendance.

But Ms Schofield believes they will be there, claiming Meghan wouldn’t want to miss her “tiara moment”.

Speaking on GB News, she said: “I think that they’re both going to come because Meghan wants that tiara moment. It’s been a long time since she’s got to wear something sparkly on her head.

“They need to remind the world that they are associated with the Royal Family, because, as you know, that’s their business, that has become their sole brand.”

Another sticking point is said to be Prince Archie Harrison’s fourth birthday which falls on May 6, the same day as the Coronation. It is claimed the Duke and Duchess want some sort of acknowledgement of that fact surrounding the celebrations.

The Coronation will be the first in 70 years since, in 1953, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey. Now, her son King Charles will have his own Coronation attended by royals, dignitaries and heads of state from around the world.
