Mr Wootton made the comments as he discussed Harry and Meghan’s UK visit next month.
The GB News presenter claimed courtiers suspect the reason for their trip is “likely to be, at least in part, commercially driven”.
He said: “While they secured the initial big-money deals, with the likes of Netflix, Spotify and the bank Ethic, needed to set up their expensive new life, making them succeed is another matter altogether.”

Mr Wootton highlighted how since signing their Spotify deal, Harry and Meghan have only released a single podcast episode.
Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for the first show to be released from their Netflix deal amid reports they are filming a reality show.
Mr Wootton added: “There are suspicions that the UK trip early next month – ostensibly to attend a number of charity events – could be used to create more content for such a TV programme.”
A spokesperson for the Sussexes on Monday announced plans to visit the UK in September, as well as Germany, to support “several charities close to their hearts”.

Their next stop is Germany for the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event on September 6.
They will then return to the UK for the WellChild Awards in London in September.
Their visit is the first time they have travelled back to Britain since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.
Harry and Meghan are living in California after quitting royal duties in 2020
It falls on the same week the new prime minister is due to be announced and asked to form a Government by the Queen.
The monarch is expected to return to London from her annual summer break at Balmoral to carry out her head of state duties, and it is likely Harry will want to visit her.
It also comes as the Duke is embroiled in a legal battle with the Home Office over police protection for his family while in the UK.
Meanwhile, the Royal Family is bracing for Harry’s forthcoming tell-all book which is due to be published in late 2022.
The Sussexes have been living in California since quitting royal duties in 2020.
