As the reception marking the ending of the British Presidency of COP26 concluded at Buckingham Palace, the monarch stepped into the palace gardens to plant a tree.

The tree was not only symbolic given the nature of the occasion and the King’s keen interest in environmentalism, but was part of The Queen’s Green Canopy.

The canopy was established last year to mark the Platinum Jubilee and has seen millions planting a tree to mark the 70 year reign of Elizabeth II.

OPINION: Prince Harry’s story will have a truly bleak ending

Angela Epstein has written for “Prince Harry, is of course, a little old to be subjected to a curfew by his despairing father.

“Anyway, given the price exacted from Netflix for his pound of royal flesh, I doubt the Duke of Sussex needs dad’s help paying for his iPhone.

“So, what’s left in terms of leverage for his increasingly weary papa?”

A former royal butler has slammed the couple for pursuing legal battles saying “Royalty used to mean something quite different”.

Speaking on behalf of, Grant Harrold said: “The only thing that sometimes confuses me is you see historically Kings and Queens did not ever get involved in legal battles or suing but there’s been a lot of that going on, obviously with Harry and Meghan and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

“I think the Queen only ever twice did that but it’s becoming more regular and that’s sadly the world we live in.

“They want to protect the name and the brand but I get that, I really do, it’s just Royalty used to mean something quite different.”

Kate and William have ‘fully embraced’ senior positions

Body language Darren Stanton has said the Prince and Princess of Wales have shown they are fully embracing their elavated status as senior royals on their trip to Scarborough this week.

He said: “Analysing the latest photographs of Prince William and Kate in Scarborough, it’s clear the family break has done them the world of good. They appear very energetic and fully recuperated to take on their royal duties.

“In one of the photos from the visit, the two are completely mirroring each other’s posture, with one hand by their side and the other across the chest.

“This shows they are in complete synchronisation with each other, both smiling and looking into each other’s eyes.

“While it’s clear the couple have a great rapport, there is no need for them to always be at each other’s sides.

“The fact that the pair are able to walk alone shows they are both very comfortable in their own skin and have now fully embraced their positions as senior members of the royal family.”
