Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the birth of their first daughter Lilibet Diana. Royal commentator Katie Nicholl told ET that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s second child could be a rift healer between the couple and the rest of the Royal Family.
Ms Nicholl said: “I think everybody’s hope is that this little baby is going to be a rift healer.
“This family division has really gone on for a long time now.
“It is well over a year, it has been many, many months since Charles, the Queen and the Cambridges have seen Archie in the flesh.
“We know there have been some really quite deep problems between Harry and William.
“There have been difficulties between Harry and his father.
“I think it is everybody’s hope that this little baby will be a peace offering in many ways.
“And that she will help bring this divided family back together.”
Last week, US Weekly royal commentators Joe Drake and Molly Mulshine discussed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s name choice for their second child.
Ms Mulshine stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a “real statement” by picking such an intimate royal name for their daughter.
Mr Drake said: “Archie was very much out of left-field in my opinion.
“So if they were still senior members of this Royal Family and they had this baby girl, I think they may have chosen something a little bit more rogue like Archie.
“Whereas Lilibet Diana is really following that royal runway.”
Ms Mulshine replied: “Right, Lilibet Diana is really planting a flag in the ground and saying this is a royal baby.
“This baby is royal make no mistake, she is intimately royal.
“She is not Elizabeth, she is Lilibet, it is a real statement.”
