Liam Payne and a host of celebrities got to meet the Queen herself this evening (June 29), at a reception that took place before the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Alongside Prince Harry, the Queen greeted (L-R) Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Mo Farah, Liam, Anita Rani and Caspar Lee.

Liam later tweeted that it was “An absolute honour to meet the Queen today”, adding that he was “Privileged to share the room with such inspirational @QueensLeaders and hear their stories”.
The star was later interviewed on The One Show by Matt Baker and Alex Jones, where he talked about visiting Ghana at age 16 with One Direction, which he described as “an amazing but tragic experience at the same time”.
“Having a child now, throws your perspective on all those things, and I’m so blessed with Bear.”

Matt and Alex also jokingly asked if they have to call Mo Farah ‘Sir’ now (which, you know, he is) but the humble sporting legend said he’d much prefer if they just called him Mo.
Earlier this year, Liam welcomed his son Bear into the world alongside his other half, Cheryl. Four months on, the former One Direction star has joked that the baby is “massive” and almost as big as his grandmother.
Liam also released his debut single ‘Strip That Down’ – see how well it ranked against the other 1D solo debuts here.
