Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly made several “demands” as they negotiate with Buckingham Palace over whether they will attend the King’s Coronation.
Piers Morgan rages against Meghan and Harry’s Coronation plans
King Charles is willing to hear out the Sussexes on at least some of their Coronation requests, says to writer and broadcaster Dominique Samuels.
“First of all, many people are wondering why the King invited them to the Coronation in the first place. Secondly, I’m not surprised they have this list of demands because the King is really prepared to capitulate to all of them,” said commentator Dominique Samuels.
She continued: “On the bright side, what can happen is a bit of a compromise. One of the things they have raised is that they want their children to be invited, they want their children to be included. It will be Archie’s birthday…at least maybe we could compromise on including the children.”
Although Meghan and Harry received invitations to the event, their children Prince Archie Harrison and Princess Lilibet Diana were not invited to the Coronation.
King Charles is set to ‘capitulate’ to Harry and Meghan, according to a broadcaster.
The couple reportedly want their children to attend the event.
Harry and Meghan told they are powerless without Royal Family status in Coronation warning
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry need to remain royals more than the Royal Family need them, one commentator believes.
Given Prince Harry’s background, the titles he and Meghan bear and the interest people around the world have in the Royal Family, reputation and crisis management expert Edward Coram-James believes it would be beneficial to the California-based pair to continue to latch onto the Firm.
However, Meghan and Harry reportedly have other demands with a source claiming that the Duke and Duchess are negotiating what role they should play during the ceremony.
“In terms of them wanting to be on the royal balcony, it’s likely that will be reserved for working royals and they chose to step away so they need to deal with that reality,” Ms Samuels added on Sky News Australia.
There have been claims that intense negotiations are taking place between Meghan, Harry and the Palace, according to an insider speaking to OK! Magazine.
Prince Archie’s fourth birthday is May 6, the same day as the Coronation. The Sussexes reportedly want a “celebration or acknowledgement” of this incorporated into the day’s plans.
King Charles may give in to some of Meghan and Harry’s ‘demands’.
Meghan and Harry are said to want to join the other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
This request is likely to be a sticking point as the balcony appearance is reserved for working royals while Meghan and Harry quit the Firm in 2020.
The Coronation will take place on May 6 but will see festivities throughout the weekend including a concert at Windsor Castle Sunday, May 7. Monday, May 8, will be a bank holiday in the UK to mark the event.
