KENSINGTON Palace has shared a video showing the highlights of 2018 for the Cambridges and the Sussexes but eagle-eyed royal fans may have noticed a mistake with one of Kate’s engagements.
The video shared on the palace’s Twitter shows the best moments from Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Kate and Prince William’s year. It features clips from royal events and engagements the four royals completed in 2018.
But the palace made a small error by recording a clip from the Duchess of Cambridge’s first appearance following her maternity leave as taking place in September.
Kate actually completed the engagement at the Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden in October.
The outing was her first public engagement after Prince Louis was born in April.
However royal followers reacted with delight to the video despite the minor error.
One fan of William and Kate said: “It was a great year! Can’t wait for another amazing one with the Cambridges.”
Another said: “Exactly, I can’t wait to see the Cambridges in their engagements for 2019. They are such a great inspiration and great models for the young.”
A third wrote: “A very good year at KP! Looking forward to a momentous 2019.”
The palace’s video also features the Fab Four’s first royal engagement together in February.
Meghan and Harry’s spectacular royal wedding in May was another highlight.
The video includes clips of the couple taking their carriage ride through Windsor and kissing on the steps of St George’s Chapel.
Meghan and Harry’s Commonwealth tour was a favourite moment, with the Duchess of Sussex adding to the excitement by announcing her pregnancy on the first day.
The Sussexes visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga during the 16-day trip.
Clips of Meghan’s royal engagements include the launch of her Grenfell charity cookbook in September and her visit to Sussex with Harry in October.
The Duchess of Cambridge had a slightly quieter year after taking a six-month break following the birth of her third child.
A festive party for RAF families in December is among Kate’s engagements in the video.
Kensington Palace said: “Here are some of our favourite moments from 2018 — thank you to everyone who made this year so special. See you in 2019!”
