Kate’s BIG change for royal baby number three: Duchess could follow Queen with tradition
KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge, could follow in the Queen’s footsteps for her third royal baby, with a big change for the birth.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were both born in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, just one mile from William and Kate’s family home in Kensington Palace.
But it is thought Kate may change her birthing plan to instead have her baby boy or girl next month at home in Kensington Palace.
The Queen kept with royal tradition to have all her four children, Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward, at home in Buckingham Palace.
Princess Diana broke that custom and had both Prince Harry and Prince William at St. Mary’s Hospital in the private Lindo Wing.
Kate followed her husband mother’s footsteps and had George and Charlotte at the same hospital.
Home births are one of a number of royal rules and traditions for expectant royals.
The Queen also has to be the first to know about the birth, with Prince William thought to have called his grandmother on an encrypted phone to tell her the news of Prince George.
Despite suffering with severe morning sickness, as she did while pregnant with George and Charlotte, Kate has had her busiest start to the year ever.

She has attended 38 royal engagements, with the latest joining Prince William in celebrating St. Patrick’s Day over the weekend.
And she has not gone on maternity leave yet, with another engagement on Thursday to celebrate the Commonwealth with athletes representing England in the 2022 games.
The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to pack up her royal duties one month before her due date, based on what she did with George, four, and Charlotte, two.
Many royal watchers have speculated Kate could even be expecting twins after noticing her bump is bigger this year.
Last month Prince William hinted that twins could we overwhelming.
At the 2018 Centrepoint awards, he said: “Twins? I think my mental health would be tested with twins.
“Two is fine, I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three, I’m going to be permanently tired.”
