Kate ‘pillar of strength’ for William as he faced ‘a really hard time with his brother’

KATE, The Duchess of Cambridge, was “a rock” for Prince William as his relationship with Prince Harry deteriorated according to a royal expert.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph royal author Katie Nicholl said William has “really struggled” over his relationship with Harry.

Ms Nicholl wrote “The Making of a Royal Romance” which tracked the Cambridges relationship in detail.

Referring to William she said: “He’s had a really hard time with his brother, he’s really struggled with it and she’s been a rock.

“When he was ill with Covid, she was the one nursing him and pulling it together and putting on a united front.

“She’s really shown the mettle – and he loves that about her – and as such, he’s let her take the lead.”

Harry and Meghan departed as working royals in March 2020 and moved to California, Meghan’s home state.

Last month the couple gave an explosive interview to US talkshow legend Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan revealed she’d experienced loneliness and suicidal thoughts since marrying into the Royal Family in 2018.

The racism claim caused a global sensation with William insisting the Royal Family is “very much not racist” whilst visiting a London school.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of the Queen expressing sadness at Meghan’s difficulties, but noting “some recollections may differ” about the events described.

William and Harry were pictured chatting earlier this month after leaving Prince Philip’s funeral in Windsor.

William and Kate’s 10th wedding anniversary was marked by a post on the official Royal Family Instagram page.

It said: “Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary.

“Today marks ten years since Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey.”
