KATE MIDDLETON, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William celebrated their wedding anniversary just yesterday. The couple has been married for 10 years.
Kate was always notorious for her fashion sense and she worked part-time as a buyer for a fashion brand after she left university.
So, the world was watching with interest to see what dress the Duchess of Cambridge would wear.
Tonight on BBC 1’s documentary, Royal Wedding: A Day to Remember, an expert analysed the dress.
She claimed the Duchess chose a gown made by Alexander McQueen because the British brand has a history of craftmanship.
The UK company is headed up by creative lead Sarah Burton, who designed Kate’s dress.
The wedding dress expert told viewers: “When we consider Sarah Burton’s design for Her Royal Highness, I think the thing that the Duchess was particularly drawn to was the brand’s tradition of excellent craftsmanship.”
She explained the choice of the fabric, which appealed to the royal.
“Some of the choices that went into the dress really paid off, so things like the selection of the fabric,” she said.
“It made of an ivory and white silk satin.
“It’s very, very beautiful, it has a kind of luminosity, and then that wonderful shape of that skirt.
“It’s designed to look as though it’s an opening flower.
Former Prime Minister David Cameron said: “She looked absolutely beautiful, the dress was stunning. It was perfect.”
Fans discussed the dress. One said: “Something old was the lace technique.”
They were referencing the wedding tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
The dress expert went on: “It is all antique lace, serval different types.”
