Kate Middleton reveals all about Royal children’s Aston Villa allegiances

Prince William is a famous AVFC supporter – but what about Prince George and Princess Charlotte?

Prince George and Princess Charlotte HAVE followed in their father’s footsteps to support Aston Villa.

Their dad, Prince William, is one of the most famous members of the Villa faithful on the planet, having held a long-time allegiance to the club and retaining a keen interest.

He recently urged manager Steve Bruce to look to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone permanently from Manchester United.

Speaking when George was born in 2013, William hinted that his son would soon become a football fan and take up the claret and blue cause.

And that prediction has been proved correct after the Duchess of Cambridge discussed all things football during a royal visit to Coventry.

The mum-of-two, who is currently expecting baby number three, chatted to some young students and Brian Mulonbi, nine, revealed that Kate told him both George and Charlotte have Villa kits.

He said: “Kate told me that George and Charlotte love putting on Villa kits. I told her I am an Arsenal fan, so I don’t really like Villa kits,” to which Kate jokily replied: “I have to be loyal to my husband!”

Taylor Mosley, also nine, said: “I said to them that I’m a Villa fan, because I know William is a Villa fan. He said he wants Sam Johnstone to be our goalkeeper forever,” reports Hello Magazine.

William gave Johnstone the royal seal of approval on a recent visit to Villa Park.

“He was pleading with me to get Sam Johnstone tied up and make his deal permanent,” Bruce said.

“We’re pretty fortunate to have him as one of our big supporters.”

Wills also discussed John Terry and Jonathan Kodjia’s injuries and what the future holds for the club during his visit in November.

“He introduced Kate to me as the ‘top man,’ so there you go!” Bruce laughed.

“I said: ‘You’re the top man, not me!”

Bruce continued: “He talked about the squad and how we have turned it around a little bit.

“He’s delighted we are moving it forward.

“Being a dad myself, you would like him as a son. He was impeccable.

“It was great for all of us that he called into the club and it made the afternoon for a lot of people.

“He’s not just saying it, he really follows us.

“He knew all about the injuries to Jonathan Kodjia and John Terry.”

William often attends games and Bruce is hoping to keep him satisfied in times ahead.

“You can tell his big passion is sport. He enjoys the rugby. I’m sure he would like to go incognito and put his Villa hat on and shout from the rafters from the Holte End. That’s the impression I got.

“It’s not often you have the future King as a supporter so it’s great for the club.”
