Kate Middleton: Prince William tells her ‘get comfortable’ in unseen engagement interview

An unseen outtake from Kate and William’s engagement interview shows the Duchess rearranging pillows, while William tells her to ‘get comfortable’ adding ‘you might be here a while’. Three children and seven years later, the video is a sweet throwback to where it all began.

Kate Middleton, 36, became engaged to longterm boyfriend Prince William, 36, in November 2010.

The pair had been together for seven years when Prince William asked the Duchess of Cambridge to marry him during a holiday in Kenya.

During their engagement interview, the public heard Kate Middleton speak for the first time.

They spoke about Kate’s engagement ring (which was once Princess Diana’s), William’s proposal and their future plans for their royal life.

Kate Middleton fusses over cushions in unseen footage from her Prince William engagement interview

In unseen footage from the interview, we get an insight into how the couple are when no one else is watching.

Kate asks the interviewer: “Can I move this cushion?”. She held up one of the many cushions on the sofa behind them.

Smiling broadly at his then-fiancee, Prince William says: “Get comfortable. You might be here a while.”

The video depicts Kate the year before she became an official member of the royal family through marrying Prince William.

However, her commitment to her future royal life and maintaining a polished appearance is already clear.

Her early concern about moving the cushion before the interview begins shows her focus on small details. She also sits with perfect posture through the interview.

Her sapphire blue Issa dress – which sold out shortly after the interview – hints at her classic royal style.

She also has the same immaculate, glossy chestnut hair that she maintains to this day.

Prince William, meanwhile, is more confident and full of joy in the unseen footage, clearly much more used to being in the spotlight as a royal.

Kate is married to the future King of England, Prince William. But what title will she have when he ascends the throne? It will most likely not be Queen.

Instead, Kate will take on the title of Queen consort, as is traditional for women who marry sovereigns.

She will not be Queen of England in the way Queen Elizabeth II, 92, who is a blood royal, is now.
