Kate Middleton and William’s ‘spontaneous’ parenting style laid bare – ‘How kids see it’

KATE MIDDLETON and Prince William are known to have an affectionate and measured approach to raising their three children.

But a royal source has said that what makes the Cambridges stand out in the firm is their “spontaneity”. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are parents to Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three.

And the couple have a “hands on” style, observers note.

The source told The Sun: “Because of who they are, William and Kate have had to be highly organized parents.

“But, as parents, Wills and Kate have developed this brilliant knack of letting as much as they can seem spontaneous and that’s how the children see it.”

The three children are encouraged to stay creative. Kate is said to encourage the two eldest “to write, sketch, photograph and paint weekly journals”.

Though the Cambridges have their own private chef, the children stir up trouble in the kitchen as they prepare meals for the family.

Kate revealed in 2018, while making food at St Luke’s Community Centre, how the children enjoy making pizza.

The Duchess said the young royals like making pizza dough “because they can get their hands messy”.

While Kate’s children enjoy cooking the main course, the Duchess has said she enjoys baking, preparing their favourite desserts herself.

“I love making the cake,” the Duchess said on Mary Berry’s A Berry Royal Christmas in 2019.

Kate and William met while studying at St Andrews University and later tied the knot in 2011.

Since welcoming their children they have had plenty of support from the Middletons, especially Kate’s mother Carole.

The source goes on to say that the tight-knit Middletons presence influenced Kate’s parenting style.

“She comes from a supportive family so she’s very keen on family networks and networks of friends and organizations,” the source said.

“As parents they are also very good at rolling up their sleeves and helping out with school events; sports days, fundraisers and that sort of thing.

“They try to be just like normal parents with normal parenting challenges. No one ever jumps the queue for anything. They just try to fit in.”
