The report, published while the couple was split, said some of William’s pals believed Kate’s mother, Carole, was unworthy of her affiliations with the royals.
Carole Middleton, 66, was an air stewardess before marrying husband Michael and starting her own lucrative party supply business.
According to the Mirror, some of William’s friends ridiculed Carole behind her back.

The Mirror reported: “William’s upper-crust friends would ridicule Carole’s former career by sneeringly whispering ‘doors to manual’ when Kate was out of earshot.
“And courtiers claimed the brunette was unsuitable for William as her mum did not speak in a posh enough way.”
The report said Kate felt “isolated and abandoned” at times because of the jibes, with the incidents helping “sink the relationship”.
One royal insider was reported as saying of Carole: “She is pushy, rather twee and incredibly middle-class. She uses words such as ‘Pleased to meet you’, ‘toilet’ and ‘pardon’.”

The Queen is also said to have disliked her habit of chewing gum, which she did at William’s passing-out parade at Sandhurst in December.
However, the breakup didn’t last long, with the pair back on again just a few months later, with Kate photographed at an event to mark the 10-year passing of William’s mother, Princess Diana in July.
