Kate and William’s SHOCK secret from Prince George as future king turns 5 tomorrow
PRINCE George turns five tomorrow surrounded by the Royal Family and friends blissfully unaware he is the future king.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William have made the decision to keep their son’s future from him as they want him to have a “normal as possible upbringing”.
This means the little prince is none the wiser he is set to follow in the footsteps of his great-grandmother the Queen, his grandfather Prince Charles and his father William, as head of state.
William, 36, previously revealed: “There’ll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world.
“We are very normal.”
Prince William has previously spoken of the pressures he faces as the future king himself, so will undoubtedly be protective of his first-born.
Writing for ‘William & Catherine: A Family Portrait’, Gill Knappett said: “Like his father did, Prince George is enjoying as normal an upbringing as possible, with two parents determined to let him have as much privacy has possible.
“Although they want his early years to be comparatively free from protocol and formality, they know they have to balance this desire with a respect for royal tradition.
“Their son, after all, will one day be Head of State.”

William previously said he has no desire to “climb the ladder of kingship”.
Catherine Mayer, author of Charles: The Heart of a King said Kate and William are “trying to delay the moment of “realisation” for Prince George.
She told E! News: “With George they are trying to delay that moment of realisation and give him normality before they thrust this on him.
“But it will be, nevertheless, part of his upbringing both in terms of what he sees his parents and grandparents doing and probably quite soon a beginning of an understanding that he is in public life and what that means.”
William and Kate enjoyed more than a year as man and wife before they announced they were expecting their first child.
On July 22, 2013, the world welcomed an heir to the throne – Prince George of Cambridge was born at 4.24pm, weighing 8lb 6oz as the third in line to the crown.
Prince George’s birthday celebrations begun earlier this week, with the Royal Mint released a new £5 coin in honour of the young royal.
