Prince William and Kate opted for a “casual” look when they attending the wedding nuptials of the Duchess’s brother James Middleton to his partner, Alizee Thevenet. The Cambridges and their three children joined the Middleton family in the south of France for the intimate wedding service, and tried to avoid taking any of the attention from the happy couple.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror’s Pod Save the Queen podcast, Zoe Forsey said: “We think there were about 50 guests there, obviously their closest family and friends.
“The Cambridges were there and we also know that is looks like the Cambridges did their normal trick where they try not to steal the thunder, so they all went for quite a dressed-down look.
“We don’t know exactly what they were wearing but we know that William was in an off-white suit and Kate rocking a light green dress.
“All quite casual, obviously George and Charlotte were pageboy and bridesmaid for Pippa’s wedding, but we don’t know yet if they had the honour of doing that this time around, and if they were, Louis might have been involved as well, but we’re not really sure.”
James Middleton married his girlfriend of three years, Alizee Thevenet, on September 11 in the rural town of Bormes-les-Mimosas.
The location is known for being one of the most beautiful villages along the Cote d’Azur.
Kate’s brother had met financial analyst and French native Alizee during a walk, after his dog approached her in the park.
They became engaged in 2019, however, they were forced to delay their wedding twice due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
In an Instagram post, James Middleton wrote that he had “married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village of Bormes-les-Mimosas.
“Words cannot describe how happy I am”.
For her wedding dress, Alizee Thevenet wore her mother-in-law Carole Middleton’s old wedding dress.
She told Hello! magazine that she had tried the dress on during the lockdown and decided to wear it as her ‘something borrowed’.
She told the outlet: “It always troubled me that wedding dresses are only worn once so it was amazing to give such a beautiful dress a second lease of life.”
Prince William and Kate were joined by Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews at the wedding, as well as Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.
The occasion also marked a milestone moment for three-year-old Prince Louis, who enjoyed his first trip abroad.
Prince George, eight, and Princess Charlotte, six, have previously gone on official tours with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The young royals have recently returned to school, whilst Prince William and Kate have resumed their royal duties.
