The British comedian, who has taken America by storm as host of The Late, Late Show, has released a new interview with Harry in Los Angeles. The friends met on an open-top tour bus and discussed everything from Harry’s relationship with Meghan to the Netflix series The Crown. However, the pair go way back and James was even a guest at the fairytale wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.
While the main event was watched by millions all over the world, friends and family enjoyed a private reception at Frogmore House on the Windsor Castle estate afterwards.
Although little is known about this private event, it was claimed in the book Finding Freedom that James sent everyone into hysterics by dressing up as Harry’s famous and controversial ancestor.
Co-authors of the 2020 book, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, wrote: “After all the heartfelt [speeches], the comic relief arrived in the form of The Late, Late Show host James Corden who strode into the middle of the tent dressed as Henry VIII.
“His wife, Julia, a friend of Meghan’s, recoiled in mock horror.”

James reportedly donned the “full Tudor regalia from tunic to tights” for the occasion.
He said: “Your Royal Highnesses, ladies and gentlemen, I had no idea what to wear to a royal wedding, so I looked it up in the royal etiquette manual and found this outfit.
“I hope I’ve come in the right gear.”
The Gavin and Stacey star then joked about the tent, which he claimed was “about the size of Windsor Castle”.

Once James had finished his act, the guests then followed Harry’s “orders” to “have a serious party”.
For their first dance, the couple chose the song I’m in Love by Sixties soul singer Wilson Pickett.
This wedding classic was followed by the Temptations’ My Girl and Sam and Dave’s Soul Man, performed by a twelve-piece American southern band.
Then, Sam Totolee took over the music, a DJ who has worked in Ibiza clubs and at events for Diddy, Elon Musk and Pippa Middleton.

Actor Idris Elba is believed to have done a one-hour set too, and played everything from Whitney Houston to 2Pac.
Idris, who had connected with Harry during the Invictus Games, said on Ellen: “One day he said, you know, ‘What are you doing on the [wedding] day?
“And I was like, ‘Hmmm, nothing’ and he goes ‘Would you like to, A, come to the wedding and, B, would you like to DJ the reception?
“And I was like ‘No…. yes! Of course I would!”
The bar was said to be “drinks of the world” themed and guests were coaxed over to it by George Clooney, who later said he “wanted to make sure everyone had the best time”.
The Hollywood star reportedly had people laughing as he started free-pouring shots of Casamigos tequila, the liquor brand he co-founded.
Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank is the European Brand Director for the tequila company.
At 11pm, canapes were brought in with “When Harry Met Meghan” cocktails, which were ginger and rum-based.
Then, there was a spectacular fireworks display.
The wedding was certainly a star-studded event with James, one of the UK’s most famous cultural exports in the US after the Royal Family, at the forefront.
James, who has lived in LA for six years, told Harry he wanted to show him around the area in their new interview for The Late, Late Show.
Their chat comes just a couple of weeks before Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to air on CBS.
