Meghan Markle vs Pippa Middleton, how similar do they REALLY look, according to experts?
Meghan Markle and Pippa Middleton have often been compared for their similar appearances – but how alike do the sister of Kate Middleton and the girlfriend of Prince Harry the pair really look? Express co uk spoke exclusively to a cosmetic doctor who revealed all.
With their tumbling long dark waves, dark eyes and flawless skin – it’s no surprise the British public began drawing comparisons between Meghan Markle, 35, and Pippa Middleton, 33, shortly after the identity of Prince Harry’s girlfriend was revealed.
And it’s not just physical similarities the pair share.
Both are keen on their fitness. Meghan is a fan of yoga and Pippa is keen on running.
While is seems the two could be mistaken for sisters to the untrained eye – just how similar are they in the opinion of a professional, using the Greek ‘golden ratio’?
Express co uk spoke to Dr Phillip Levy, a Geneva-based aesthetic dermatologist who contours his client’s faces with botox and fillers.
It might surprise the public to learn that Meghan and Pippa are not that similar after all.
“Whilst there are obvious similarities between Pippa and Megan, including their long dark hair and their smooth and glowing skin, their facial characteristics are actually very different,” Dr Levy said.
“On closer inspection they both have differently shaped eyebrows as well as different lower faces and mouths, meaning that their facial features aren’t really similar at all.”
While Meghan has an oval-shaped jaw, Pippa’s jaw is much more defined and square.
Meghan’s eyebrows are also more arched, while Pippa’s are straight.
Dr Levy added: “What Meghan and Pippa do have in common is charm, personality and confidence, and so are therefore not attractive because they supposedly mimic the proportions of mathematical architectural masterpieces (which is what the golden ratio is based on) but rather because they have great skin and hair and display the characteristics listed above.”
The beauty professional added that while some invest in the science of the golden ratio, it is not a rule that can be applied across the board.
He said: “There have been numerous claims and campaigns in the injectable aesthetic business about the ‘golden ratio’ (or Phi, derived from the ancient Greeks) being responsible for attractiveness.
“It has led many to believe that this easy to learn, ‘one-size-fits-all’ theory can be adopted by all practitioners.”
“However this is not the case, and when treating any of my patients, I always ensure I take each individual on a case by case basis to enhance their natural beauty, not to completely change the proportion of their features.”
What is the golden ratio?
The golden ratio is a mathematical equation that it has been believed can measure the beauty of a face.
The face is them given a rating out of 100, with 100 being the perfect face, and therefore most beautiful face, possible.
The idea originated from Ancient Greece and has survived to this day.
Meghan Markle was recently been spotted in Toronto in a rare public appearance, after spending ten days in London.
