Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: Is she friends with Sarah Ferguson, Princess Diana’s friend?
CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL, is said to be friends with Sarah Ferguson, despite the complicated links between the two women. This is why that is.
Is Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 70, also known as Camilla Parker Bowles, friends with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, 58, who was once close to the late Princess Diana, who died at the age of 36?
The Duchess of Cornwall is married to Prince Charles, 69, and Sarah was previously married to Prince Andrew, his brother.
However, Sarah and Prince Andrew separated in 1992 – the same year Andrew Morton’s “Diana: Her True Story” – the biography of Princess Diana – was published, about Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla.
Sarah Ferguson has since reconciled with Prince Andrew, and is known to still live together with her ex husband at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
So what does this mean for Sarah and the Duchess of Cornwall’s relationship?
It is said Sarah is a patron of The Elephant Family, a wildlife charity started by the Duchess of Cornwall’s late brother, Mark Shand.
For this reason, the Duchess of Cornwall is a fan of Prince Andrew’s former wife, it is said.
“Camilla adored her brother and so is instinctively fond and slightly misty-eyed about anyone who helped him out, as Fergie did as patron and long-standing supporter of the charity,” a source told the Daily Mail.

It is said – despite Sarah no longer being married to Prince Andrew – the Duchess of Cornwall has supported her in being welcomed back into royal circles.
This included an inclusion on the Court Circular, a list of royal engagements, as Prince Andrew’s guests.
‘Camilla is a peacemaker by nature – look how she managed to get the Queen, William and Harry on side after the most inauspicious of beginnings,” the source continued.
“Having been vilified herself for so long, she has much sympathy for Sarah.”
Meanwhile, Sarah has said of the Duchess of Cornwall that she “loves” her.
“Camilla is fabulous. I’ve known her my entire life. I love her.”
“She and my mother were always best friends, and she was so nice to me,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.
She added their friendship had not caused problems between her and Princess Diana.
