Royal insiders have expressed their concern that King Charles III is beginning to be overshadowed by the Princess of Wales.
The Princess, who is known for her passion in early years, encouraged the children present to “work hard”.
The amount of coverage that Kate has been getting since the event on Monday has concerned insiders.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s diary editor, one insider said: “With his love of horticulture, His Majesty’s appearance at [the] Chelsea [Flower Show] was an important engagement.

“It’s a shame that his visit with Her Majesty The Queen received less coverage than might have been expected.
“I hope they [the King and Queen] are not too disappointed.”
The claim of ‘overshadowing’ seems to mirror those made during King Charles’s first marriage to Princess Diana in the 1990s.
During the then-Prince Charles and Diana’s first joint royal tour of Wales, Charles himself admitted to crowds of adoring fans that his wife was the person they had come to see – not him.
It also comes just months after Harry documented in his bombshell memoir that the King and Queen Camilla disliked Prince William and Kate “drawing attention away from them”.

In Spare, Harry wrote: “Pa and Camilla didn’t like Willy and Kate drawing attention away from them or their causes. They openly scolded Willy about it many times.”
Harry recalled one instance where the King’s press officer gave strict instructions for an engagement that Kate was due to attend over fears that Kate would overshadow the now-King and Queen.
Harry explained that a “fetching” picture of the now-Princess of Wales would ruin any chances of the King and Queen Camilla being on the front covers of the next day’s newspapers.
The King is a nature lover and keen gardener
The Duke of Sussex said the visit had to be ‘tolerated” and the King’s press team said to make sure no pictures were to be taken of Kate holding a tennis ratchet.
Arriving at Chelsea Flower Show, the King and Queen – and Kate – showed no signs of tensions, appearing to enjoy the wonderful day.
