MEGHAN Markle has developed a strong bond with Victoria Beckham after the pair were introduced by their husbands Prince Harry and David Beckham.
The Duchess of Sussex became close to the former Spice Girl after she began regularly attending the Soho Farmhouse members’s club and hotel in Oxfordshire, close to one of the Beckhams’ summer homes. After their spectacular Windsor wedding in May, Meghan and Prince Harry retreated from the limelight to nestle into married life in a rented house on the Great Tew Estate in Oxfordshire. And the 37-year-old found solace in the private country club which is less than two miles from the estate and boasts a number of spas, two cinemas, a gym and restaurants set in 100 acres of lush countryside.
It was here that Meghan would regularly bump into Victoria who is known to attend the club with her children almost every day during the school holidays.
At the time the duchess was in the early stages of pregnancy and sources at Soho Farmhouse told the Daily Mail it is “highly likely” Victoria was one of the first to know about the royal baby news.
Meghan, who is due to give birth to her first child this spring, is said to be considering hypnobirthing and home birthing as options.
But while Victoria opted for four selective C-sections and was famously dubbed ‘too posh to push’, the style icon could offer the first-time mum some advice on motherhood as well as her beauty secrets.
Victoria was known to snap back into shape just weeks after giving birth, something which she put down to running up to six times a week.
And the 44-year-old has already let Meghan in on a secret when she recommended London-based facialist Sarah Chapman to her the week before the royal engagement was announced.
The Californian-born former actress has been a longtime fan of the pampering treatment, having gone for her first facial with her mother Doria Ragland at the tender age of 13.
Victoria is said to have taken up regular facials as a treatment for her acne, which was so bad during her teenage years that her peers branded her ’Skicky Vicky’.
And the sisterhood of the Duchess of Sussex and the former singer was taken to another level when the royal opted to wear a number of designs from Victoria’s ailing fashion label.
Joining the Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family for the Christmas Day church service in Sandringham, Meghan donned a Victoria Beckham navy midi-dress, which retails at £1,250, a matching coat at £2,250, £1,250 boots and a £1,550 handbag.
Choosing her friend Victoria’s brand for her festive maternity look was a nod to the British designer who has known Prince Harry for more than 20 years.
The pair first met during a visit to South Africa in 1997 and Victoria introduced her three sons to the sixth-in-line to throne at a Unicef charity football match in 2015.
David Beckham has previously spoken publicly about his admiration for William and Harry, saying it made him “proud to be English” watching the princes grow into fine young men.
The former England captain has spent a lot of time with the Queen’s grandson down through the years including teaming up for charity events, joining forces for a bid for the World Cup and boozy lads’ nights out.
Although Harry and Meghan are set to move into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor ahead of the impending birth, it’s likely the royal couple will keep the Beckhams in their inner circle and continue to connect with the power couple after welcoming their baby.
