It is another tragic event to add to this month’s royal calendar that otherwise looked set to be full of celebration.
The Queen has her 95th birthday later this month.
Meanwhile, Kate and William are readying to mark their 10-year wedding anniversary, as well as 20 years together as a couple.
To commemorate it, OK! Magazine has released a special collector’s edition this month dedicated to the couple’s decade of marriage.

Revisiting every moment, one excerpt detailed the families reaction to William proposing to Kate.
Writer Rachael Bletchley told of how both were “overjoyed” at the news.
Yet, a sombre and heartbreaking note was struck when Harry learned of the engagement.
After William called to tell him the happy news, Harry revealed that he had always wanted a sister, and would now find one in Kate.

He said: “I am delighted my brother has popped the question.
“It means I get a sister, which I’ve always wanted.”
However, according to a 2011 report by The Daily Telegraph, Harry appeared to briefly snub Kate when he said: ”A younger brother or younger sister would have been nicer, but to have a big sister is obviously very, very nice.”
Although, he conceded: “I’ve got to know Kate pretty well, but now that she’s becoming part of the family, I’m really looking forward to getting her under my wing – or she’ll be taking me under her wing probably.

“My brother’s very lucky, and she’s very lucky to have my brother.
“I think the two of them are a perfect match.”
Prince Charles was also thrilled at hearing the news of the engagement.

He joked: “They have been practising long enough.
“It makes me feel very old.”
Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were equally as excited.
Michael said: “They make a lovely couple.
