A new book has made the astonishing claim that Meghan threatened to “dump” Harry if he didn’t publicly confirm she was his girlfriend. Author Valentine Low made the revealing claims in his new book, Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, in which he details the ultimatum he alleges Meghan gave Harry.

According to an extract from the book, published in The Times, as Harry was facing “hordes of journalists” keen to dig into his new girlfriend’s life, Harry “became determined to protect” her – but she wanted them to go public with how serious they were.

The book claims: “A source said: ‘She was saying, “If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you”. Harry was in a panic’. Another source said: ‘He was freaking out, saying, “She’s going to dump me”.’”

Meghan Markle’s entrance to royal scene was a ‘wake up call’ for Kate and Prince William

Meghan Markle’s entrance to the Royal Family resulted in Kate and William needing to “up their game”, a new book has claimed.

The first-ever joint public appearance made by Kate and Prince William with Meghan and Prince Harry in February 2018 was a “wake-up moment” for the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to a source.

Royal author Katie Nicholl wrote in her new book The New Royals: “The Cambridges had already signalled their intention to be more than ‘ornamental royals’ and had, along with Harry, made a huge success of their mental health campaign Heads Together.

“But Meghan was the breakout star of the foursome.

“She was polished, passionate and funny, using all her TV-honed skills to present her case.

“‘That was a wake-up moment for William and Kate when they realised that Meghan was very impressive, very confident and very capable’, according to a source.”

Meghan Markle ‘only told nanny they were going to Canada once plane took off’ in secret escape

The destination chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their announced six-week break from royal duties started in mid-November 2019 was so secret they didn’t even inform their nanny where they were going until their plane had left, a royal author has claimed.

An upcoming bombshell book focused on royal courtiers and their relationship with the Firm includes claims on the events taking place before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their decision to step down as full-time working members of the Royal Family in early 2020.

In an edited extract from his book ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown’, The Times royal correspondent spoke of the Sussexes’ trip to North America made three years ago.

Making claims on the secrecy surrounding this break abroad, he wrote: “When Harry and Meghan went to Canada for their six-week break in November 2019, their escape plans were already laid, amid the greatest secrecy.

“Meghan would not even tell their nanny, Lorren, where they were going.

“According to one source, she did not know where they were going until the plane — a private jet — was in the air.”

Queen’s final resting place with Philip and beloved parents is pictured for the first time

Buckingham Palace released today the first-ever picture of the ledger stone installed at the Queen’s final resting place in Windsor.

The new black stone slab presents the names of King George VI, the Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip alongside their years of birth and death.

It also includes a metal Garter Star, a tribute to the fact they were all members of the Order of the Garter.

The Queen reached her final resting place in the King George VI Memorial Chapel on Monday evening, after King Charles III and members of the Royal Family gathered at St George’s Chapel for a private ceremony which closed the day of her state funeral.

The Queen put Harry firmly ‘in his place’ following Meghan Markle wedding tiara row – claim

Queen Elizabeth II put Prince Harry firmly “in his place” following a row over Meghan Markle’s wedding tiara, The Times’s royal correspondent Valentine Low has claimed in his new book titled Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown.

In an extract published by The Times newspaper, Mr Low claimed the now Duchess of Sussex wanted to rehearse her hairstyle for her wedding, celebrated in May 2018, with her stylist Serge Normant, which meant she needed to try on the tiara.

However Angela Kelly reportedly wasn’t available at the time, meaning Meghan couldn’t get access to the piece of jewellery she had chosen – the Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara.

Mr Low wrote Prince Harry was reportedly “furious” Miss Kelly was being “obstructive”.

The journalist claimed the Duke “put pressure on Kelly to bend the rules” using some “fairly fruity language”.

However, after learning what had happened, the Queen summoned her grandson and, a source claimed, put Harry “firmly in his place”.

Archie and Lili ‘not expected’ to receive titles after Charles’s accession

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children Archie Harrison and Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana may not receive the HRH styling they are now entitled to following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, one royal commentator said.

Royal expert and British journalist Jonathan Sacerdoti believes it wouldn’t be “particularly relevant” to the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tots to become known as prince and princess.

He told Express.co.uk: “I wouldn’t expect them to be given the HRH styling. Not because of any falling out, but because I don’t think it would be particularly relevant to their lives.

“I think that Meghan and Harry made it quite clear even before they left as working Royal Family members that they wanted their children, or at that time their child Archie, to have a sort of protection from the less attractive side of being in the Royal Family.”

Mr Sacerdoti went on to say it would seem “strange” if Meghan and Harry pressed to have their children styled with a royal title after they stepped down as full-time working royals.

He said: “And I think, given that was their aim and one of the biggest factors in the decisions they have made since then, it would actually seem strange for them to want to try to style their children that way.”
