MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry are desperate to meet the Queen to maintain their “saleability in the US”, a commentator has argued.
Circulating rumours suggest Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their children, Archie and Lilibet, could be be visiting the UK soon. The possible UK trip would allow baby Lilibet Diana chance to meet Her Majesty for the first time. She was born in June.
Amid the swirl of rumours is talk of Lilibet being christened in the UK, like Archie, two.
An expert panel on the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential show discussed a UK visit for Harry and Meghan to meet with the Queen in private.
One commentator, Andrew Pierce, believes the pair are “desperate” to meet with the Queen as she aids their “saleability” across the pond.
He claimed: “They know their only saleability in the United States is their connection to the most famous woman on the planet – the Queen – which is why they are desperate to see her.
“It’s all about product Harry and product Meghan plc.”
Other experts on the panel also claimed a meeting would help “keep up the royal connection” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Diarist Richard Eden agreed with Mr Pierce’s comments, suggesting a meeting between the couple and the monarch would happen at some point in the future.
Experts on the panel also claimed a meeting would help “keep up the royal connection” for the couple
He claimed: “It will happen because I agree with Andrew, Harry and Meghan need it really. They do need to keep up that royal connection. They are a family. They do want a christening.
“Meghan does not speak to any members of her family apart from her mother, so it makes sense to have the christening where any family can come, and that would be Harry’s family rather than hers.”
The couple moved to the US at the beginning of 2020, after stepping back from senior royal duties in a move dubbed Megxit.
