PRINCES George and Louis, alongside their sister, Princess Charlotte, may attend a festive service held by their mother next week.

It aims “to recognise and celebrate the incredible work of individuals and organisations across the nation who have stepped up to support their communities through the pandemic”.

It will be broadcast on ITV in December, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

The Duke and Duchess took to Instagram to share the invites received by guests, complete with the gold ‘C’ and intricate crown design for the Duchess’s name at the very top.

The caption read: “This Christmas we are celebrating the incredible work of individuals and organisations across the nation who go above and beyond to support their communities.”

It continued: “The service, which will be broadcast in December, will look back on the last eighteen months.”

Reflecting on the experiences of everyone during various lockdown periods, the carol service will hope to “think not only of the unprecedented challenges that we have all faced as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, but also to remember the positives”.

These positive include “people and organisations pulling together in their communities, the small acts of kindness across different demographics and generations, and the unsung heroes who stepped up to help others”.William Kate

This includes “promoting the importance of mental health, supporting families and driving awareness of and action on the extraordinary impact of the early years.

“Guests will range from those involved in grassroots community initiatives, charity workers and volunteers, to teachers, emergency responders and armed forces personnel.”

Fans reacted to the Duke and Duchess’s post with anticipation, eager to be able to watch the carol service alongside the esteemed guests in Westminster Abbey.Carole Middleton

Another, ‘catherine_mountbatten_windsor,’ praised: “This is such a wonderful idea … very much looking forward to it!”

Jaymumsey commented: “How fabulous the Christmas Carol Service in the Westminster Abbey will be. Can’t wait to see it on television.”

Speculation around the young royals’ attendance comes after it was revealed the Cambridge children are particular fans of their grandmother Carole’s lighthearted Christmas decorations.

Festive ‘gonks’ appear similar to garden gnomes, with long white bears and a staple cone-shaped hat.

They are one of the many Christmas-themed decorative pieces sold by Carole Middleton with her husband, Michael, via their company, Party Pieces.

Sharing a post on Instagram with the company account’s more than 44,700 followers, Carole wrote: “I’m going to need a few of these cheeky chaps this December, to hide around the house and make my grandchildren laugh.

“As much as I love immaculate decorations, we can’t be too serious at Christmas!”
