Speculation is rife over whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are living in California after quitting royal duties, will return to Britain for Christmas. If the couple do join the royals at Sandringham, they could take part in the traditional church outing on December 25 along with their son Archie.
Members of the Royal Family traditionally attend church in the morning on Christmas Day as huge crowds of well-wishers gather to catch a glimpse of them.
However it is not known if Harry and Meghan will travel to the UK for Christmas.
And if they do, they may skip the church outing or attend without young Archie.
Prince William and Kate’s youngest child Louis has not yet taken part in the royal tradition.

In 2019, George and Charlotte attended the Christmas Day church service for the first time.
The young royals delighted well-wishers, with Charlotte stealing the show by giving one fan a sweet hug.
Last year the outing did not take place due to the Covid pandemic.
Royal fans will be looking forward to hopefully seeing the royals out again in force this year for the Christmas service.

The Queen, who has been on doctors’ orders to rest, is head of the Church of England and has a deep Christian faith.
Meghan and Harry, who welcomed daughter Lili in June, spent last Christmas in the US amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Their previous Christmas, which was Archie’s first, was spent in Canada ahead of their announcement they were stepping back as senior royals.

It has not been confirmed if the Sussexes will head back to Britain this year for Christmas.
But last month Page Six reported that the pair have no plans to travel to the UK for the festive period.
A source told the US media outlet: “There’s a lot that goes into the logistics and the planning of the family Christmas, so of course, staff know that Harry and Meghan are not coming.
“If they were, they would have communicated it to their family by now.
“But this is Her Majesty’s first Christmas without her husband, so one would have hoped they would want to be with her.”
The Queen traditionally spends Christmas at her Sandringham estate where she is joined by other members of the Royal Family.
This year is her first Christmas without her beloved husband Prince Philip, who died earlier this year.
