Fury as Fox News host links Meghan and Harry’s Oprah interview with Prince Philip’s death

A FOX NEWS presenter triggered outrage by appearing to link Prince Philip’s death to the incendiary interview the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave to Oprah Winfrey.

The remark sparked condemnation across the internet with Daily Beast publishing an article titled: “‘Fox & Friends’ Inevitably Blames Harry and Meghan for Prince Philip’s Death.”

Responding to a clip of Mr Kilmeade’s remarks one Twitter user said: “Body isn’t even cold yet.

“I knew they were ghouls but this is a stretch and excessive, even for them.”

Another sarcastically added: “I think Brian Kilmeade is onto something.

“It’s actually very common for 99-year-olds to see something on TV that annoys them and then suddenly die over a month later.”

A third posted: “I was wondering how quickly they would blame her.

“Good lord, they must have been just waiting for the opportunity because that was damn quick.”

The Duke’s death was announced in a statement by Buckingham Palace.

It said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“Further announcements will made in due course.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

Prince Philip stepped back from public engagements in 2017.

Earlier this year he spent a month in hospital recovering from a pre-existing heart condition.

Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Ms Winfrey was watched by hundreds of millions around the world.

The Duchess revealed she experienced loneliness and suicidal feelings after joining the Royal Family in 2018.

She also alleged there were “concerns and conversation” about Archie’s skin tone prior to his birth in 2019.

Harry confirmed the discussion took place commenting: “That conversation, I am never going to share.

“At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”

Neither Meghan nor Harry would disclose which royal had been involved in the discussion.

However Ms Winfrey later said the Sussexes’ asked her to make clear it wasn’t the Queen or Duke of Edinburgh.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of the Queen expressing sadness at Meghan’s difficulties.

However it added “some recollections may vary” about events discussed by the Duke and Duchess.
