Fergie’s Balmoral invite comes as Queen realises she is ‘stabilising’ figure for Andrew

SARAH Ferguson has been described as a “force of nature” by a royal expert, as the Duchess is re-welcomed to the Queen’s inner fold with invites to Balmoral Castle.

The Royal Family “could do a lot worse” than Sarah Ferguson, claims a royal expert, as the Queen re-welcomes her former daughter-in-law back into royal circles. In recent years, the relationship between Her Majesty and the Duchess of York has significantly improved, and she was recently spotted at Balmoral Castle with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, where they were joining the Queen for a family holiday.

Royal commentator Kate Mansey told Palace Confidential: “She’s been invited to Balmoral the past few years and I think the Queewithin a heartbeat, she’s got tonnes of drive and passion and she will defend Andrew until kingdom come.

“They could do a lot worse, with all the other things going on with the Sussexes and Andrew’s impending case in the States.”

Sarah Ferguson has recently conducted a number of interviews to promote her new adult fiction book, and has opened up about her current relationship with the Royal Family.

During an interview on the podcast “Tea with Twiggy”, the Duchess of York said: “I think to myself that honestly, my mother-in-law has been more of a mother to me than my mother. [She’s] never faltered.

“I absolutely think there is no greater mentor. The consistency of Her Majesty has been a great honour. A huge honour. Makes me want to cry.”

Fergie first entered the Royal Family in 1986, when she married Prince Andrew at Westminster Abbey. In the years following their marriage, she undertook a number of public duties and the couple welcomed two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.

However, her relationship with the Queen and the late Prince Philip soured following the breakdown of her marriage to Prince Andrew.

Shortly after they announced their separation in March 1992, Fergie was photographed topless with her toes being kissed by an American millionaire. The images made headlines across the globe, and Prince Philip was reportedly “incandescent” with rage.

Her financial issues and debt problems were frequently reported in the tabloid press throughout the 1990s, and she was caught in 2010 offering access to her ex-husband for financial payment.

An undercover News of the World reporter caught the Duchess on camera, agreeing to give access to Prince Andrew for £500,000.

She was subsequently snubbed from the wedding guestlist of Prince William and Catherine Middleton in April 2011.

However, despite previous scandals, she has remained on close terms with her former husband, and the pair currently reside together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

During her recent stay at Balmoral, a former alleged Jeffrey Epstein victim filed a civil case against Prince Andrew, claiming that he abused her on three occasions.

His accuser alleges that the Duke assaulted her at the London home of Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and in Epstein’s properties in Manhattan and the US Virgin Islands.

Prince Andrew withdrew from public life in 2019 after his friendship with the convicted s*x offender received public backlash.

In an interview with BBC Newsnight, he said that the alleged abuse “never happened”. He told BBC journalist Emily Maitlis “It didn’t happen. I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened. I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.”
