Everyone asked why did Catherine Duchess wear three poppies?

Both Queen Elizabeth II and the Duchess Of Cambridge – who is pregnant with royal baby number three – wore black coats and a black hat for the ceremony, as well as three poppies each pinned to their jackets.

While most of the public opt for one poppy worn on their chest in November, it appears the royals have agreed on three poppies.

But why are the royals wearing three poppies? Here are some theories:

For visibility

While none of the royal family have revealed the choices behind how many poppies or what kind they wear, in a forum one member of public guessed the many poppies are worn for visibility.

While out and about for and around Remembrance Day, it is important that the royal family show their support.

The reason the Queen and Catherine Duchess of Cambridge may be wearing multiple is to make it clear they are showing support in pictures and on TV.

It’s a corsage

Another person guessed that it is simply one type of design, a corsage version of the poppy.

They shared: “It’s a corsage so it is actually one single wearable item…..probably…I think.”
To represent each service

The Queen has been spotted before wearing five poppies at one time.

The public thought this could be to represent each service in the war – the Army, Navy, RAF, Civil Defence and women.

However, this does not explain why this year the Queen and the Duchess are wearing three.

This Morning’s Holly Willoughby was called out by fans recently for the way she was wearing her poppy on the ITV show.
However, this is the correct way to wear a poppy.
