Meghan Markle laying low after ‘Suits,’ will join Prince Harry in philanthropic endeavours
There has been a fair amount of speculation regarding what American actress Meghan Markle will do as her relationship with Prince Harry continues. Many outlets have reported that she will continue with her acting career, but it looks as if she may have changed her mind and will opt for a quieter life that the public is more used to seeing of the royals and their partners.
“Even before Harry, she was starting to think about transitioning out of acting,” a source told E! News last week. “She wants to focus on other worldly endeavours she is passionate about, like her philanthropy.”
Meghan is currently filming the seventh season of “Suits” in Toronto, and the publication questioned if it would be her last. Her character, Rachel Zane, is part of the series’ main cast, and it is slightly difficult to imagine how the show will continue without her. But if she makes the ultimate decision to leave, then the producers will need to figure out a way to make it possible.
The 35-year-old actress has spent some significant time and effort on ventures outside of acting. In January, she spent a week in India with World Vision Canada. She was there to take part in a humanitarian mission to help impoverished women and girls. An article about the stigma of menstruation was also written by Meghan and published by Time. Her efforts really do seem to focus on empowering women.
She is currently based in Toronto because of “Suits,” but the publication was told that she is doing her best to keep a low profile. “Meghan is the darling of Toronto,” the source said. “Locals love her so much, and she really engaged herself into the community when she moved here for ‘Suits’ years ago. The city basically adopted her, and she fit right in. She’s just not as accessible now but she’s always been so kind and genuinely so sweet to people around town.”
Kensington Palace confirmed that Harry was dating Meghan in November. The two have since been seen at a handful of events, including the wedding of Harry’s best friend. However, the couple has yet to make an appearance at an official event.
