KATE, Duchess of Cambridge hid her baby bump today as she joined Prince William in Manchester for a series of royal engagements where they’ll discuss mental health and child welfare.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent valuable time meeting local schoolchildren who are taking part in a project called “stepping out” in conjunction with the BBC.

Kensington Palace tweeted: “The session is a focus group where young people are able to give children’s editorial staff and content producers their view of how they respond to new programmes.”

“At the Stepping Out session, The Duke & Duchess take part in a Q&A with a young person – Josh, who featured in a Newsround special telling his story of his mental health challenges.”

Later today, the royal couple are set to visit the Children’s Global Media Summit at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

Kate, who is pregnant with the couple’s third child, covered her growing baby bump in a grey tweed LK Bennett coat costing £495.

The Royal will later join a discussion on child well-being by the Sesame workshop – the charitable foundation for Sesame Street in Salford.

Prince William will also attend a ‘cyber bullying taskforce’ and deliver a key note speech at the summit this afternoon.

Kate and William last visited manchester in October 2016 when they went to the National Football museum, Manchester Town hall and the Children’s hospice first opened by Princess Diana, The Manchester Evening News reports.

Their appearance today comes after the announcement of a new code of conduct earlier this month by The Royal Foundation’s Taskforce on the Prevention of Cyberbullying, of which the BBC is a member.

The initiative ‘Stop, Speak, Support’ was announced by the Duke during Anti-Bullying Week.

“The Royal Foundation has led the way in supporting young people online so we know our delegates will be thrilled to hear from the Duke on his hopes for the future of media.”
