Prince Harry now lives in California with his wife Meghan and their two children.

Mr Low said of Harry: “The younger prince was a dashing figure, flying an Apache helicopter, and was heavily committed in the area of children’s health, with charities like Well Child. But he also used to be quite a wild lad.

“When Harry was young, it was easy to forgive him, his transgressions. But at what point does a wild lad become a seedy old roué?

“Eventually, of course, the problem would resolve itself. The wild lad died the day Harry met Meghan Markle.”

Prince William and Harry ‘got frustrated’ with Charles over inability to contact him

Harry and William used to get “frustrated” with their father due to their inability to contact him, a royal expert has claimed.

Katie Nicholl said: “I was told by one of Charles’ aides that one of [his sons] was trying to reach him, this is quite a few years ago when they were younger, and wanted to get a hold of him.

“But Charles did not carry a mobile phone around, he could not bear the things, so when [his sons] wanted to check something, it always had to be through an aide.

“I think there were times when they got a bit frustrated by not being able to reach him. And he worked round the clock as well.”

King Charles is set to push ahead with a “changing of the guards” as he prepares to slim down the Monarchy to seven key royals.

This means that royals such as Princess Anne and Sophie Wessex are at risk of being cut from the working rota.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Palace Confidential: “Charles’ plans for a slimmed-down monarchy have been long known.

“He is determined that the monarchy will not be a drain on the taxpayers’ purse.”

She continued: “I don’t think Charles is going to start kicking his relatives out of their grace-and-favour apartments, especially the elderly cousins of the Queen.

“But there is going to be a change of guard, and it is going to be narrowed.”

‘Dashing’ Prince Harry was ‘seedy old roué’ before he met Meghan

Prince Harry was turning into a “seedy old roué” before he began dating Meghan, a bombshell new book has claimed.

In Valentine Low’s new publication, Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, Valentine Low states that Harry was “quite a wild lad” when he was younger, and includes details of him playing air guitar while naked with a pool cue at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas hotel in August 2012.

However, the book says Harry has now traded in that life for his wife and children.
