Kate Middleton due date: Could the royal baby be born on Prince William’s wedding anniversary?
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is due to go into labour at any moment with Prince William and his wife expected to welcome their third child to the family later this month. Could the royal baby be born on Prince William and Kate’s wedding anniversary?
Kate made her final royal engagement on Thursday, March 22, marking the start of her maternity leave as she hung up her official royal shoes for some well-deserved rest before the big day.
The Duchess of Cambridge is now thought to be resting at home in Kensington Palace while she awaits the arrival of her third child with husband Prince William, following the births of their son Prince George in 2013 and daughter Princess Charlotte in 2015.
The royal couple announced they were expecting again on September 4 last year, but it was not clear how long she had been pregnant.
Kate suffers from an extreme form of morning sickness hyperemesis gravidarum – which previously forced Kensington Palace to announce she was pregnant with George and Charlotte before the 12-week mark.
However, once again Kensington Palace have been able to keep the lid on when the baby is due – leaving anxious royal watchers playing an eager guessing game.
Could royal baby be born on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding anniversary?
Ecstatic royal fans could be waiting days or even weeks for the birth of the latest royal, as the family remain tight lipped on the closely guarded due date secret.
However, as Kate only hung up her royal engagement shoes at the end of March, experts say she is likely to give birth at the end of the month.
Provisions have already been put in place for parking restrictions outside The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital ready for the world to descend on the private hospital wing.
And some have suggested the couple’s third little bundle might decide to gatecrash their wedding anniversary plans on April 29.
Kate and William will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary on April 29, after tying the knot in 2011.
And there is every possibility that could be her exact due date, given it is expected Kate is due to give birth at the end of the month.
It would be quite the anniversary present if she were to give birth to the couple’s third child seven years to the day since she married her prince.
Kate is thought to have been overdue with both George and Charlotte, so a lot will depend on whether the same happens this time.
There is a high chance the new royal baby could end up sharing their birthday with some of her relatives – including big sister, two-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Princess Charlotte will turn three on May 3, and may end up spending the day with a dash to The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s hospital after blowing out her candles.
And if the royal baby arrives a little earlier, she could share a birthday with her gran.
The Queen has two birthdays. While the country marks her official one in June, her actual date of birth is April 21 – and what a surprise it would be to be gifted another grandchild on her birthday.
Suggestions have also included St George’s Day – April 23.
