Could Catherine’s pregnancy be preventing Prince Harry from proposing to Meghan Markle?
A royal expert has explained why they believe the royal baby could be holding up Prince Harry’s plans to propose to girlfriend Meghan Markle.
Royal baby watchers would have been delighted to see Kate Middleton stepping out in style last night, showing off her beautiful baby bump at a gala dinner at Kensington Palace. However, new reports about the royal baby have also surfaced this week, suggesting that the future Prince or Princess might be influencing their uncle’s engagement plans.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dating for almost 18 months now, and speculation is rife as to whether the sixth-in-line to throne will propose to the American actress soon.
Fans of the couple think that a proposal is a case of ‘when, not if’ after the couple were spotted hand-in-hand at the Invictus Games in Toronto recently, and Meghan opened-up in an interview with Vanity Fair stating that she and the Prince are ‘really happy and in love’.
However, those hoping for an engagement announcement from the couple this side of Christmas may well be disappointed, as a new source has emerged to suggest that Harry will put off a proposal – or at least an official announcement – until after the new royal baby is born next year.
The Daily Mail reports that a royal insider has spoken to a US website, claiming that Prince Harry will not make any engagement announcement with Meghan Markle until after Kate has given birth to her third child in April 2018.
It doesn’t seem that Harry minds putting off his plans until after his new niece or nephew is born. He described the news that he is to become an uncle again as ‘fantastic’ earlier this year, and gushed that he feels ‘great’ knowing he will have a third baby to dote on alongside Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Sources have also suggested that Meghan and Harry are keen to live together for a while before they get engaged. The American actress is reportedly moving out of her Toronto home to move to London imminently to be with the Prince.
