Princess Charlotte ensured she was the centre of attention with an impressive gymnastics performance for her mum while Prince William played polo today. The Duke of Cambridge was supported by Kate, Charlotte and Prince George as he competed in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire.
‘I received 600 rape threats in one night’ says MP who is victim of Twitter trolls Other polo fans were thrilled to see Kate laughing and joking with her children as they joined their cousins Isla and Savannah Phillips and mum Autumn Phillips for the family fun day. Rocking a matching pink dress and shades, confident Charlotte kicked off her shoes and ran across the grass with George before sitting in her mother’s lap to cheer on Prince William. At one point Kate – who was dressed in a £39.99 Zara dress and Russell & Bromley wedges – was in stitches as her daughter performed for the group.
Yesterday at the Trooping the Colour event for the Queen’s birthday, Savannah was pictured cheekily covering George’s mouth with her hand as they watched the Red Arrows flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Today’s charity match raised funds and awareness for two charities – the Royal Marsden, which the Duke supports as president, and Centrepoint, of which he is patron. The match, which will see the Maserati team take on the Dhamani 1969 side, is part of the two-day Gloucestershire Festival of Polo, hosted by Beaufort Polo Club from 9th-10th June.
It is said to be part of a series of charitable polo matches that the Duke and Prince Harry will play in this summer. The two brothers have taken part in polo fixtures in support of their charities since 2007, and have continued each year since, raising over £11 million for charitable causes to date.
But there was no sign of George and Charlotte’s youngest sibling, Louis, who was born in April and is yet to make his first public appearance. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were also missing from the day’s activities, having joined his nephew and niece fresh from their rumoured mini-honeymoon at Buckingham Palace yesterday. Meghan experienced the pomp and pageantry of the event for the first time when she arrived on Horse Guards Parade with her husband exactly three weeks since their wedding
