Royal wedding: Collector gives TOP TIPS to get best Meghan and Harry’s nuptials keepsakes

BBC’s antiques expert Mark Hill provided Royal family fans with some top tips to keep in mind when considering what memorabilia to keep to celebrate the wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will tie the knot for the Royal Wedding on May 19 in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Royal family supporters have been known to mark such occasions by adding new memorabilia to their collections.

The BBC’s antiques expert Mark Hill revealed “quality” remains key to a successful purchase.

He told BBC’s The Travel Show: “If you’re looking for something that might go up in value, or certainly hold it’s value, you need quality, quality, quality. limited edition and something with visual appeal.

“If you like, it’s highly likely there will be plenty of people out there who do, too.

“A story is always great.”

Kensington Palace released the latest details about the wedding on Friday, saying: “As we said back in November, this wedding will be guided by tradition, allowing everyone to celebrate what makes Royal Weddings so special, but also one which reflects the personalities of Prince Harry and Ms. Markle.”

And former royal butler Grant Harrold, who runs the Royal School of Etiquette and Butlers, spilled the beans on which traditions he believes will be honoured at the wedding.

Mr Harrold told Express: “A lot of the traditions and laws of the past have changed, especially when it comes to royal etiquette such as marrying divorcees.

“We’ve got to understand it’s not a royal family from a hundred years ago, it is a very modern royal family and so we will be pleasantly surprised from what we see on the day.”

While the couple is expected to bring some modern touches to their nuptials, Ms Markle and Prince Harry have also decided to pay tribute to Princess Diana by having all three of her siblings attending the ceremony in Windsor.

Kensington Palace confirmed Diana’s siblings Earl Spencer, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane will all be present.

The couple wanted to make sure the prince’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who was killed in a car crash in 1997, will be remembered on the day, the palace said.
