EXCLUSIVE: Royal expert Marlene Koenig says that King Charles is having to think like his late mother now that he has taken the throne.

Like the Duke of York, Prince Harry is no longer a senior royal. Earlier this month, it was announced that the King has asked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to depart their UK base, Frogmore Cottage.
After the backlash surrounding the King’s decision to evict the couple, Ms Koenig said that it’s “not like they won’t have a place to stay”.
She claimed that, at times like these, Charles has to “put on the crown and has to do something”, adding: “Just as the Queen did with both Andrew and Harry.”

She claimed that the King, and late Queen, would have thought, “Ok, I love you, but you are not going to a part of the job, you can’t have it both ways.”
Ms Koenig then spoke of the backlash, she said: “It’s called tough love. There’s things you have to do. It’s something Charles had to do for the family. [He had to] cut this loose before the Coronation and move on.”
Harry has previously stated that he “does not feel safe” when they are in the UK, due to the lack of security that the couple are no longer senior members of the Royal Family.
Due to the high security surrounding Frogmore Cottage, the couple would have felt safe at the property, experts have said. Reports previously suggested that the couple only left the grounds a couple of times during their UK visit for the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 because of the security afforded to them while at the property.

Prince Harry has been involved in a legal battle with the Home Office over his lack of police protection in Britain. It is understood that Harry’s case against the Home Office will be heard next month.
Earlier this month, the Duke and Duchess confirmed, via a statement, that they had been “requested to vacate” Frogmore Cottage.
After some debate who would take over the Windsor-based property, Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her young family have reportedly already moved in. But this is only set to be temporary.
The King is looking to relocate his younger brother, Prince Andrew, from Royal Lodge into Frogmore Cottage but the Duke is resisting such plans.
