Catherine Zeta-Jones’ son records hilarious message for royal family
Dylan Douglas will be turning 18 soon
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are the proud parents of two teenagers, and if they have their way, at least one of them would join the British royal family! In a fun photoshoot ahead of his 18th birthday, Dylan Douglas posed with his younger sister Carys in a regal-inspired photo, which saw them both dress up for the occasion. The aspiring actor shared the image on Instagram, and wrote: “Just a young guy looking for princesses @theroyalfamily hook me up! Or take my sister, at least I would get to go to a royal wedding.” The picture went down a treat with their famous mum, who was quick to comment on it. “When the cat’s away the mice will play! Love you both so much,” she wrote. Dylan’s followers were just as impressed. “Awesome pic, you guys!” one said, while another added: “You are already a prince and princess!”
Dylan and his sister have been known to enjoy recreating photos, and even replicated an old family photo earlier in the year, which also featured Catherine and Micahel. In the original photo, the Hollywood couple were seen holding their two children outside their cottage in Canada, with Carys in Catherine’s arms, and Dylan being held by dad Michael. In the present photo, Carys, 14, and Dylan, 17, – now too big to be carried – recreated the pose with their parents holding their legs to look as if they are picking them up. The image was posted on Catherine’s Instagram account, along with the caption: “As time goes by. Outside our cottage in Canada.”
While both children are growing up fast – with Carys even joining Catherine in her first ever interview for Town and Country magazine in August – the Chicago star appears to love raising teenagers, and enjoys the time with her children just as much as when they were little. In an interview on Today, she said: “I kind of pre-empted the roll-your-eyes teenager years. I love it. I just love the freshness. It’s all so exciting to me… I was working when I was my son’s age. I was in the theatre, and I look at him, and I go, ‘Wow, I was working when I was your age.’ So I’m just enjoying this time, learning a whole bunch of stuff that I didn’t know.”
