Good luck telling these two Kates apart. Kate Middleton may have a royal allowance and team of stylists, but Kate Urbanksa uses just eBay and a tailor to emulate the Duchess’s signature style.
With over 4,000 followers on Instagram, the “GreatRepliKate” shares her secrets for stealing the royal’s look, from her gold earrings down to the nude pumps. The British beautician often scours resale sites while waiting for the bus, scoring designer looks from Alexander McQueen and other high street favorites for a fraction of the cost.
What she can’t find, she’ll hire a tailor to recreate. “I love Kate Middleton and her style – her look is modest, timeless and so different compared to other celebrities nowadays,” the 29-year-old told the Daily Mail.
She started collecting the outfits the day after the royal wedding, when the newlywed stepped out in a £50 Zara dress. Since the Duchess’s clothes usually cost much more than $60, the natural brunette stays somewhat selective in what she buys. “You might be dazzled by a full-length gown the princess wore, but if your lifestyle doesn’t require a couture dress, then don’t buy it,” she advised.According to the Daily Mail, she has spent roughly £7,000 or $8,700 to recreate Kate’s looks.
Despite her undying devotion to the royal, Urbanska admires another celebrity with regal ties: Meghan Markle. “Her style is feminine like Kate’s but also much more modern and edgy,” she told the Daily Mail. “Who knows? maybe I’ll start replicating Meghan’s outfits too!”
