Camilla ‘comes out fighting’ in new video as Meghan Markle attack rocks Palace
Camilla Duchess of Cornwall took part in a video call to mark World Book Day
The Duchess added: “And it’s hopefully going to lead them on to reading more and more and discovering different authors and different subjects they’d like to read about.
“So I think for a lot of children out there, World Book Day means actually the birth of reading, and that’s why it’s so important.”
Her appearance comes during a difficult time for the Royal Family as Prince Philip, 99, recovers from heart surgery and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey is due to air on Sunday.
Body language expert and author Judi James analysed the new clip of Camilla for Express.co.uk and shared her findings.
Camilla Duchess of Cornwall’s: CBS released a sensational new teaser of Meghan’s Oprah interview on Thursday
According to the analyst, Camilla kept calm and carried on despite the ongoing royal drama.
Judi said: “Camilla’s previous video appearances have looked subdued and rather lacklustre but, in the face of Philip’s heart op news and what looks like a wave of accusations about to crash in from the US, she does seem to have come out fighting.
“This appearance might be about extolling the joys of reading books but Camilla’s keen, upright posture and the way her eyes now scan the screen quickly to ensure engagement seems to suggest she has re-energised and picked up the pace generally.
“Camilla’s constant nodding is a head-baton gesture encouraging group agreement and her hand gestures begin to resemble small mimed punches as she makes her very enthusiastic pitch here.”
On Thursday, CBS shared a sensational new trailer of its special with the Sussexes in which Meghan launches a direct attack at The Firm.
In the 30-second clip, Oprah asks Meghan: “How do you feel about the Palace hearing you speak your truth today?”
To which Meghan replies: “I don’t know how they could expect that, after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.
“And, if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean, I … there is a lot that has been lost already.”
How is Prince Philip?
The bombshell CBS trailer dropped just hours before the Palace confirmed Prince Philip, 99, had undergone surgery for a heart condition on Wednesday.
A Palace update on the Duke’s health stated: “The Duke of Edinburgh yesterday underwent a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition at St Bartholomew’s hospital.
“His Royal Highness will remain in hospital for treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days.”
