Archie ‘in the firing line’ as Harry and Meghan ‘upset’ about plans to change title

ARCHIE Harrison will be refused a Prince title as Prince Charles seeks to change the Letters Patent in his vision for a slimmed down monarchy.

Prince Charles‘ plan for a “slimmed down monarchy” includes refusing the eldest child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a royal title. Under the current rules, baby Archie Harrison is entitled to become a Prince once his grandfather becomes the monarch, but Charles hopes to revise these rules in order “to cut down on public money”.

“They also provide security for them – so Prince Charles’s plan is really to limit the number of people known as HRH, and this will include baby Archie.”

Royal correspondent Natalie Oliveri said, “When Prince Charles becomes King, then basically Archie will be elevated and he will become the grandchild of a monarch, which will entitle him to a title, and Lilibet to become a princess.”

“Prince Charles has long talked about slimming down the monarchy, he wants to have less working Royal Family members. That would cut down on public money because the tax-payer funds the royals who are performing royal duties.”

This decision has reportedly upset Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who publicly questioned the motives behind denying their son a title during their tell-all Oprah interview.

Natalie Oliveri continued, “Now apparently Prince Charles told his son Prince Harry and Meghan his plans to change the Letter Patents, he made that clear to the couple just before their interview with Oprah.”

“It’s claimed that Harry and Meghan were quite upset about this, which is why they began giving these explosive interviews.”

The Letters Patent is a legal document that is issued by the monarch to grant a title or an office to a person or corporation.

During their 2-hour sit down interview with the US chat show host, the couple questioned why their son had been denied his birth right, with Meghan Markle suggesting his race could have been a factor.

Relations between the Royal Family and the Sussex couple have been strained since the fallout of Megxit in January 2020.

Since deciding to step back as senior royals, the couple have conducted several interviews where they have discussed their lives within the Royal Family.

Their explosive interview with Oprah saw Harry and Meghan accuse the Palace of neglecting their mental health, cutting their family financially adrift and refusing to correct damaging tabloid articles that were frequently published about the Duchess of Sussex.

The most damaging claim however, was that a senior unnamed member of the Royal Family had voiced concerns over the skin colour of their unborn child.

Prince Harry has also spoken about the strained relationship he has with Prince Charles, saying he felt “really let down” and criticised his father’s emotionally distant parenting skills.

The Royal Family have not seen baby Archie Harrison since November 2019. The couple have also welcomed a baby daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana, on June 4.

The Sussex family now reside in Montecito, California, where they are next-dooor-neighbours with Oprah Winfrey.

Although Prince Harry is due to return to the UK for the July 1 unveiling of new statue dedicated to his mother Princess Diana, Meghan Markle is expected to remain in America with their young children.
