Prince William faces a “tricky visit” to the US this year when he travels to the States alongside his wife Kate Middleton. Royal biographer Angela Levin said that William is taking on “heavy duties” as the Queen starts to “back down” in her role. Speaking to GB News, Ms Levin also commented on the news that the Duke of Cambridge will visit Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates next month.
The visit comes at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and will be Prince William’s first official trip to the UAE.
The GB News host told Ms Levin: “Things the Queen would have done a few years ago are now clearly being delegated.
“How do you think they are dividing it between Prince Charles and Prince William?”
She responded: “The trip to Dubai for William is absolutely perfect.”

Ms Levin continued: “In 2018 he went to Israel and Jordan, which is a diplomatic minefield, and he did very well there. This is an extension of that.
“Charles already has a lot on his plate because he has taken on the majority of what the Queen would do. It works well for both of them that William takes this on.
“The ruler of Dubai says he wants to invest £12bn into our economy and my goodness, we could do with that.
“They think William will charm him.”

On the changing dynamics inside the Royal Family, Ms Levin explained: “The Queen is backing down as well.
“When there is a major decision to be made, Prince Charles is immediately consulted and then they bring in Prince William to hear his views.
“William and Charles are concerned about building back the Royal Family. They have to rebuild how they do these foreign trips after the pandemic.
“He will be going to America this year for the Earthshot Prize, but that is a tricky one because they need to get the Americans on their side.
“Harry and Meghan have done well to make the Americans believe that what they say about the rotten Royal Family is true. So William has some heavy duties coming his way.”
Last year it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are heading to the US – around two years after Harry and Meghan moved over.
William announced that his environmental initiative, The Earthshot Prize, will host its second ceremony in the US next year.
Back in October, he said: “This is just the start. I’m thrilled that in 2022, The Earthshot Prize will be heading to the United States, where we will continue to spread this vital message of urgency, optimism and action.”
