Amal Clooney and George’s lavish gift to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed
AMAL CLOONEY and her husband George recently hosted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at their Lake Como villa, and the Ocean’s 11 actor is believed to have spared no expense in welcoming the royal couple.
Amal Clooney, 40, and George, 57, recently invited the newlyweds to their idyllic villa in the Italian resort for a relaxing break away, according to reports.
And George, who topped the highest paid actor list last year, is said to have ensured their trip went extremely smoothly and remained out of the public eye.
The A-Lister reportedly gave the royal couple a lavish gift by flying them out to Lake Como on his own private jet.
Royal source Omid Scobie told Good Morning America: “Clooney actually [flew] them over to Como from London on his private jet and then an unmarked motorcade transported them from the airfield to the home with, of course, their protection officers in tow.”
It’s also reported George and Harry, 33, played basketball together whilst Megan, 37, cooed over the couple’s one-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
Omid added: “George and Harry have a shared passion for motorcycles and checked out George’s collection and they also played basketball together.
“Amal and Meghan spent much of their days lounging by the pool together and, of course, playing with the twins.”
George and Amal’s elaborate home is believed to boast 25 rooms, a swimming pool, tennis courts, screening rooms, a gym and their own personal pizza room.
The couple, who tied the knot in Venice in 2014, have relocated to Italy for the summer whilst George films new TV series Catch 22.
And they were reportedly very “happy” to have the royal couple stay at their stunning villa.
“The Clooneys had personally invited Meghan and Harry to their home at the beginning of the summer with an open invitation,” a source told Us Weekly.
“George and Amal were so happy to host Meghan and Harry. Harry and George have a special bond and friendship.”
Amal and George attended Harry and Meghan’s nuptials in May this year and it appears they have been friends for some time.
The award-winning actor and Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson have reportedly been friends for more than two years after meeting at a private charity function.
It’s believed Harry then introduced the former Suits actress to the showbiz couple.
A source told E! News: “They all have a lot in common, so it just clicked as a four.”
The royal couple aren’t the only stars Amal and George have hosted whilst in Italy this summer.
Jennifer Aniston was recently spotted visiting the pair’s luxurious pad along with her Murder Mystery co-star Adam Sandler.
The two have been spending time in the European country as they’ve been filming for their new Netflix movie.
Amal and George have also been pictured enjoying many evenings out as they make the most out of the delicious cuisine.
