PROTOCOL has traditionally ruled out certain behaviours for Royal Family members. However, these rules may be relaxed for a new generation of royals as Zara Tindall let slip in a recent interview.
he Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall has never had an official title but is still very much a member of the British Royal Family. Zara was raised outside of the royal bubble but is well aware of the traditions that dictate royal behaviour. Now a mum of two, the royal has revealed how she “wouldn’t have a leg to stand on” if her children rebelled.
Zara’s mother, Princess Anne rejected the Queen’s offer of royal titles for her children and raised Zara and Peter Phillips as private citizens instead.
Zara, 38, is a keen equestrian like her mother and will compete for Britain in the 2020 Olympics.
She is married to rugby payer Mike Tindall, 40, and the couple have two daughters – Mia, five, and Lena, 14 months.

Zara was labelled a ‘royal wild child’ growing up and broke royal tradition by getting a tongue piercing.
Despite her rebellious past, the mum has admitted she wouldn’t be happy if her daughters ever got tattoos.
Zara told Saga magazine, first referring to her husband Mike: “He absolutely hasn’t got a tattoo.
“I’d also rather one of my daughters came home with a piercing than a tattoo because at least a stud can be removed.”

Zara went on to acknowledge that her teenage tongue piercing would make it tough to take a stand against her girls if they did decide to get inked.
She added: “I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on if they did though.”
Zara’s admission suggests times could be changing and the royal tattoo ban may soon be banished to the history books.
She and her husband Mike are popular in royal circles and the Queen is said to be very fond of them both.

Mike demonstrated his rapport with the Queen at Royal Ascot races this year.
The rugby player played a practical joke with the monarch when he took off his top hat to reveal another tiny one underneath.
Zara recalled the prank: “We’d been given little top hats with chocolates in them at lunchtime.
“Mike wanted to bring his home for our daughter Mia but had nowhere to keep it. So he put it on his head, inside his own top hat.
“I don’t know what inspired him to reveal it in front of Granny but it certainly made her smile. He’s not usually a practical joker.”
